*New* Drama Workshops for 2012/13

Our SUPER drama workshops are really taking off!

We’ve expanded our repetoire of fully interactive, fun and topical drama workshops for 2012 – 2013!  Each 90 minute workshop is for up to 66 pupils (2 classes) and are suitable for either lower/upper primary school or lower secondary school pupils.   Our new topics: SUPER HERO, SUPER SELF and SOAP OPERA are sure to bring a fun learning experience to any school or event!

13/10/11 – Hopscotch Announces Autumn 2012 Show

Hopscotch Theatre Company is thrilled to announce a brand new production for Autumn 2012. “A Brief History of Scotland” written by Ross Stenhouse is an exciting, whirlwind journey through our nation’s history, featuring Kings and Queens, Battles and Invasions and traditional music and song in Hopscotch’s inimitable style.

30/09/11 – Cairn PS, Maybole enjoy their 1st Hopscotch Show

Cairn Primary School in Maybole enjoyed their first Hopscotch Theatre Show this week as “Scottish Myths and Legends” vistied their school.

“P2/3 were entranced and sat wonderfully completely absorbed…..The moral of each story was clearly understood by all, even the wee ones…..The acting was very good and the whole show very entertaining.” P2/3 Teacher

“I liked it because it was ver, very funny when the spider crawled up on the lady……I was amazed, it was really, really good…..Made me feel happy because it was so funny.” P3/4 Pupils

20/09/11 – On The Road with Hopscotch’s Travelling Storyteller

Hopscotch Theatre Company’s Autumn 2011 production “Scottish Myths and Legends” written by Raymond Burke and directed by Ross Stenhouse started it’s tour of Scottish Primary Schools yesterday at Wester Cleddens and Gartocharn Primary Schools. Featuring some of our best loved folk tales, live traditional music and a once in a lifetime chance to see a real Haggis!

23/06/11 – Parliament Show draws to a close.

Hopscotch Theatre Company’s “The Scottish Parliament Show” written and directed by Raymond Burke and starring Jenna May Cowie, Carol Rafferty, Richard Gray and Paul Kozinski draws to a close tomorrow when we perform at Wemyss Bay Primary School and All Saints Primary School in Greenock.

The Scottish tour has visited 150 primary and secondary schools to a total audience of 30,000 pupils and was performed at Holyrood for an audience of pupils and MSPs.

Thanks to the EIS for funding our Highland and Aberdeenshire tour and to the Co-operative for funding our Teacher Resource Packs and Drama and Democracy Workshops.

13/06/11 – New Video of Tam Rehearsals!

Hopscotch Theatre Company announces the arrival of a new video of the rehearsals of “Tam o’Shanter” from earlier this year. Designed as a taster for the wonderful performance, which is touring Jan – March 2012 it also can be used as an educational resource in class as an introduction to the poem. Featuring Fiona McRae and Ross Stenhouse.

 

10/06/11 – The Toast of Holyrood!

Hopscotch Theatre Company yesterday were the toast of Holyrood as they performed “The Scottish Parliament Show” at The Scottish Parliament.
