Hopscotch Theatre Company are delighted to announce our 2025-2026 touring pantomime ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ by Isla Cowan directed by Jordan Blackwood and presented in partnership with Glasgow Life.
Casting Call Out (Automatic Download)
Our community pantomime reaches 37,000 children each year across Scotland, in schools, venues, and Glasgow centres with Glasgow Life. We’re reimagining The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and seeking a diverse cast to reflect our audiences. We welcome performers from all backgrounds and look forward to your unique take on these iconic roles.
Submit A Self-Tape Audition
To apply, submit a self-tape with a reading for your chosen character and a 1-minute a cappella contemporary song. Upload your video as a downloadable or viewable link (Vimeo, YouTube, or Tagmin) via our online form. Submissions will be reviewed by at least two members of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz creative team. Deadline below.

Information Sessions (Optional)
To keep our application process open and accessible, we’re hosting information sessions for anyone with questions about the production, audition process, or our work. The sessions will provide details on self-taping requirements, how our touring pantomimes operate, and offer a space to ask questions in advance.

Shortlisting & Recall Auditions
Shortlisted actors and performers will be invited to a recall audition held at Hopscotch Theatre’s studio in Govan. The provisional dates for recall auditions are outlined below. If you are unable to attend any of the dates, please detail your availability in your initial submission.
- All applicants informed of Shortlisting: Tuesday, 5th August, 2025*
- In-person Auditions: Monday 18th August and Tuesday 19th August 2025
- All Applicants Informed of Outcomes: No later than Monday 25th August 2025
*All shortlisted applicants will be notified of the outcome and feedback provided.
