Joe is a clever young boy, who has a lot in life but doesn’t quite appreciate it. Every day is the same, he rushes through breakfast and strolls to school through the forest. But today is not like any other day when he discovers a boy hiding in a tent, in the woods. Who is this mysterious boy? Why is he so familiar? And why isn’t his voice heard? Joe soon discovers he has more in common with this unseen boy than he first thought. Learning to love the freedom this way of life brings. From dancing trees, the warmth of sunlight to the sound of the twit-twooos.
Two experienced actors inhabit this parallel world with their interweaving poetic monologues. They take us on the child’s journey where play, ambition, fantasy and dreams cross a virtual divide.
THE UNSEEN CHILD promises to be a bouncy, lyrical and heartfelt play that explore the lives of children today; their rights, struggles and hopes for the future.
