Hopscotch Theatre will be returning after the New year with their popular Burns Last Supper, written by late founding member and Artistic Director Ross Stenhouse.
The play Burns Last Supper is set in 2023 when Robert Burns awakes from the past clutching his holy grail of the Kilmarnock Edition of poems. For his last day on earth he goes on quite a journey. Instead o’ whining and whinging (he’s good at that!), he spends his last few hours recounting some famous faces, a few regrets, and most importantly, some of his most famous works from Tam O’ Shanter, tae Auld Lang Syne; A Man’s a Man to Tae a Mouse.
Burns Last Supper calls for two actors excited by playing energetic roles, working in close proximity for the duration of the tour. If you are interested in reciting Burns pros and poetry, portraying a contemporary version of the man himself or playing out a host of supporting characters from his works then auditioning for one of these roles is for you! Burns Last Supper will be touring to children and families across Scotland in January and February 2023, supporting Burns Celebrations.
