Storyline

Being woken up by the Devil himself is quite an experience! But when you’re Robert Burns, it can feel like nothing new! It’s the 21st January, 1796 and Burn’s wakes, clutching to his holy grail: the Kilmarnock Edition. But as he realises it’s his last day on Earth: he is taken on a journey. Instead o’ whining and whinging (he’s good at that!), he spends his last few hours with you: recounting some famous faces, a few regrets, and most importantly, some of his most famous work. You might have heard of a few of them, after all! From Tam O’ Shanter tae Auld Lang Syne; A Man’s a Man to Tae a Mouse: he rolls out the hits, and it’s not to be missed! Burns Last Supper is an interactive, energetic opportunity to meet the Ploughman Poet and a whole host of faces, exploring some of the most influential Scots texts from the last 250 years! Originally, written and created by Hopscotch Theatre Co-Founder and former Artistic Director, Ross Stenhouse. This new version is directed by Calum Moore. Calum’s directing credits for Hopscotch Theatre include; Plop! in the Ocean and Jack and the Beanstalk [Assistant Director].
